I'm conflicted about sex. I'm into pretty much everything seen on this site...and yet, I want it to happen in a meaningful context with someone who is not a stranger and someone I care about.

I was a virgin until 39 years old because no one for whom I had romantic feelings ever felt the same, and there was no one I cared about even as a friend who seemed interested in intimacy with me. Then I developed a friendship with an older woman, we'd "known" each other on facebook for a couple years, and the subject came up, and she said she was interested in experimenting with me. So, that experience was wonderful, because I care about her, she is special to me. But it can't lead to a romantic relationship because she is a lesbian. Plus she lives far away, a hour long flight (and an expensive one, for me).

So a lot has changed...and yet...at the same, a lot has not changed. I'm still the shy guy, not very socially functional, definitely not good at parties, and find it difficult to form friendships. I still have a lot of logistical and financial issues with a fully realized relationship (I'm making about 40% over minimum wage right now, but the minimum wage in my city is scheduled to go up 40% in the next year or so).

Sometimes I think about going to a swinger party or something...but there's still that issue of not being good at parties and not being good at forming friendships.

If that kind of thing was easier for me, and I found myself having friendships in real life with a lot of attractive women, I feel like I might be having more sex. Maybe I'd be in a fully realized relationship.
