I am quitting porn today after 12 years of addiction that has spanned half of my life. Maybe other people can handle a real life and hours of porn every day but I am not one of them. Thank you for creating a spam free virus free site with excellent and varied content. Goodbye motherless. Goodbye Porn. Hopefully I will quit for good and stop missing you and actually beat the withdrawal symptoms this time. Wish me luck

I've always found the concept of "porn addiction" quite fascinating. I guess mostly I just don't get how someone could be so interested in jerking off that it becomes an all-consuming pastime.

You don't have to be masterbating to enjoy porn

That's our no-accountability society for you. If you've got so little self-control and so few social skills that you wind up in your room beating off 26 hours a day to videos of other people fucking, it's not your fault. It's an "addiction." You can call anything an "addiction," that way you can go around crying about your victimhood while not having to take any responsibility whatsoever for your own actions and choices.

I wish you luck, OP. I have pondering doing the same lately. Not for any moral reason, but for a sense of self control.

Well, eventually it does get boring. It's like having chocolate cake everyday.

Or, more accurately, like watching videos of somebody else having chocolate cake every day.

Yeah but it's a different chocolate every day. With as much out there. It is impossible to keep up. I probably have terabytes of it I have never seen and just never will but I still can't bring myself to delete it.

I understand, OP. Not ever addiction has to be an opiate or narcotic or amphetamine. Some people have food or sex addictions. My addiction is shopping. Trust me, you just crave it sometimes. It gets in your head and it doesn't go away until you give into the urge. But for the most part, it is easy to control.

It's only been in the past 15-20 years that the term "addiction" has been applied to any compulsive behavior under the sun. It's mostly a marketing ploy by the therapy-rehab industry, but it's been a hugely successful one.

Then again most "addictions" have only now started to be studied.

Seriously...why are people always talking like masturbating is a bad thing? Disease free, no commitment, you're the only person that really knows how to make you cum (your significant other learns along the way, beginning when you first have sex, and couples do it together all the time!) It's been proven orgasm from both sexes release their respective chemicals, which in turn help relax.
And please, pray tell, what are the "withdrawal symptoms" of not jacking off? Never heard of that one before, it's not like you're doing crack meth or heroine!
(Just for fun)
I am quitting "meth" today after 12 years of addiction that has spanned half of my life. Maybe other people can handle a real life and hours of "meth" every day but I am not one of them. Yeah, for real. It's kinda the same way I look at compulsive gamblers. Sure, it's a terrible and potentially very destructive habit to have, but so are a lot of other things that we don't call "addictions." I would submit, for example, that compulsive consumption of sugar and saturated fat better fits the definition of addiction than gambling or porn.

I tried to quite a couple years back (well not just tried, I did) I mean obviously I didn't quite for good as I am here, but, I did quite at the time with out it being a issue of having withdraws and such

gained it only last a about a couple of month tho ironically it was because about a month in I hooked up with this chick (after a very long dry spell, of not having sex) and found that having gone that long (in addition to not having had sex) but not even having jerk off, I found that it rather hurt my performance

but still even after that I still didn't start up again for another month or so late, as once again i found my self with a girl, an again had and rather quick performance, after that I started flapping regular again, (not even to porn at first, just flapping it before bed a few time a week) just to you know release a little tension

an the next time I found myself with a girl, it paid off as I lasted much longer and even preformed multiple times, without problem

so I leaned that a little masturbation here and there is healthy and normal, even if your using porn to help you get there ;) lol

as long as you don't let it take over your live
