I 100% agree with you that no meaningful dialogue can take place without mutual respect. Unfortunately, I have doubts that the @soapbox section in the ML board is a place where such a message would reach many people, as it feels like far too many just use this place to vent their frustrations.
You have been active on this site for longer than me, so maybe you remember a time when more people were having reasonable exchanges here? In which case it would be even more saddening to witness all these threads that just end up in an exchange pointless generalizations and hostilities...
