I found this entire thread to be disturbing. Yes there are assholes everywhere. Both male and female. But there are good people as well. Respect works both ways and only when it is given both ways. The fact that the terms used are sweeping...(all, every, women need to..., men need to...) implying that there are no decent, respectful, kind, and thoughtful people here is just wrong. I've met some wonderful people here.
I suggest that if every member of the opposite gender you interact with lacks respect or is manipulative then just possibly the problem lies with you.
I'm not directing this specifically at you bslsk, you have always been wonderful. But the OP and some replies just sadden me.
