The government bailed out GM, and it's still privately owned. And the retirees
you speak of are members of the labor union (United Auto Workers)and are getting
their pensions that the union negotiated. It's corporate management that wants
to screw them out of their pensions.
And who's really "living off government programs?" Could it be Goldman Sachs,
Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and other financial institutions who would have
gone belly up had the government(starting with Bush and continuing with Obama)
not come to their rescue? Could it be defense contractors who get billions for
useless weapons systems? Could it be agri-business who get government subsidies
for corn, sugar and other commodities? The trouble with you right wing pussies
is that you don't have the balls to fight the powers that be. You'd rather pick
on some poor mope collecting a measly welfare check than stand up to some rich
