It's not the 1950's or conservative posts that create fear about socialism. It's the constant failure in Cuba, the USSR, North Korea, East Germany, Venezuala, and countless other societies where it has been a miserable failure that intellegent people that know history fear and shun this opressive form of government. Socialistic, anti-free market ideas are why the USA is in the world of hurt that its in right now. Only someone ignorant of history and geopolitics would mindlessly attempt to post the "benefits" of such a failed ideology.
