Sadly? It's called progress. Religious superstition (and the hatred and bloodshed that invariably accompany it) is a vestige of a time when we needed to invent stories to explain why the sun went down at night. The fact that people still cling to such things in the second decade of the 21st century is as hilarious as it is disconcerting.
