From what I’ve read, they don’t actually bite, but they do “pierce” with their mouth parts. Sounds like they could be a lot of fun.

They most always are on trees and I already have a jar ready. I will love it if they do pierce. I know there is some vids on here where people have got stink bugs to pierce them using something but I can't remember off hand what, maybe it was honey, or something like that. I have caught horse flies thinking that they pierced like a needle and all that would happen is they had stuck out something that I thought would be a needle then they would just suck off all the honey like a vacuum, it was so boring I didn't even post the vids of it. I hope the cicadas will pierce, I want one to pierce through my sac and all the way into my balls.
