I tried a snail for the first time, a large, white Roman snail. I won't do it again. The snail rasped a hole in my glans fairly quickly, it bled for quite a long time and healed very slowly. The feeling was far too brief and not intense.

Wait... snails bite? I did not know this. Been wondering why anyone uses snails, if it was just because of the slime they leave.

Snails have a tongue called a radula. It has many small teeth. That works like a rasp.

Indeed, that's how they eat leafs and such.
I am a bit surprised the Roman snail does this to human flesh, because this specie is a herbivore.
Also never heard similar stories about other slug or snail species.

I will consider trying almost anything worth trying. Just ask

I’ve used the slugs and snails we have here in the uk and never had that happen

The freshwater 'Mystery Snails' sold in pet stores for aquariums can also 'bite' & break through the skin causing bleeding.
While stuff like algae & plants is their main diet, they'll eat most anything they can find...fish food, dead fish, etc.
