Good luck with that. Granted, the US is a key player in the G-0J12B0Q3SG, but nobody forced those other countries to participate. Everyone joins the global economy willingly. Other countries were being stupid along with the US. It was a mass stupidity that caused the global economy to fall, not one nation. Likewise, it's the 21st century...nation vs. nation BS is so 1980's. The real problem behind the economy collapsing is b/c every nation in the world has made it ok to allow business to loan money to people. Folks used to buy bonds and save money. Now they get loans and use credit cards. Every nation. Europe was stupid to let Greece and Portugal and Spain into the Eurozone. Germany was stupid to allow "stimulus" packages (just like the US). The whole economy needs to contract to weed out the funny-money folks have been living off of. But, instead of letting that happen, governments (at the behest of big business) is trying to keep the current economy afloat by using toothpick stilts in unstable fashion. Governments allowed businesses to dictate regulations and deregulations that caused a lot of this. If anyone is to blame, its greedy consumers wanting everything now and paying for it later, and greedy companies being more than willing to oblige them when they know most consumers are a bad risk. We are a world hell bent on reactively borrowing ourselves out of problems instead of proactively saving for a rainy day.
All this nation vs. nation rhetoric is just smoke and mirrors bs to make citizens feel ok about being greedy idiots ("it's not our fault!"), while companies are still picking their pockets.
You'd think after the 1980's both Russia and the US would learn to curb spending and focus on saving and civil interest programs that spur actual growth and well-being. Instead, we piss away money on stupid programs like cash for clunkers (where the scrap metal was sold to china), home loan bail-outs and bank bail outs (giving money to idiots that have already proven they can't manage their own money properly...yeah, let's reward their stupidity!), and we cut back on REAL programs that provide REAL progress, like science grants and NASA.
