CT like other states has some of the most restrictive gun laws on the books. Yet their "gun-control" didn't stop this from happening. Gun control laws don't work-period--this is PROOF. Time to start placing the blame on the person and individuals who carry out these acts, not the means. Cars, food, drugs, screw drivers, knives, baseball bats, shovels, rat poisen, wrenches, lawn mowers, mother-in-laws, ex-girlfriends all kill.
Time to bring back the electric chairs, the public hangings, firing squads--thats how you stop this senseless violence. Fucking lawyers, liberal judges and congress pussies, and Bill fucking Clinton/Barack Muslim Obama

Knives, crossbows, compound bows, rope, cars, planes, trains and you could kill somebody with a rock or even a sharp stick! We gonna ban all that shit too? How bout we quit making all these dumb ass laws and just allow people bare arms, like the 2nd amendment says! If everybody could carry a weapon at all times, how many of these dumb asses you think would keep doing this? None cause they're all just a bunch of pussies that choose to shoot up gun free zones. You dont hear about this shit happening at gun shows or police stations do ya? Because everybody there has a gun and they know they'd be dead before they could get off 3 shots.

You want to stop school shootings? Arm the teachers or have a cop at every school! 2nd amendment was put in place for a reason and it wasn't for us to be able to hunt!

"guns make killing easy. any other weapon and he could have been stopped" Not true. A flame thrower, I doubt he could be stopped. nails in a pipe b0mb with a short fuse, try to put that one out. A sharp machete, pretty hard to stop a maniac sling one of those things. One of those fuel cell powered nail guns, that could cause a lot of damage, holds more "ammo", and even though you would have to be hit a few times at close range, it would probably hold you off. Chainsaw. You gonna try to stop a guy swinging a saw? Good luck with that one. Now a gun. with a gun I can stop just about anyone using any kind of weapon.

I am with pervone, I am pro gun, not pro killing. People NEED to be armed to protect themselves, and others from the idiots that do try and do harm. I dont care how big of an idiot you ore or how much I hate you and your views, if I saw someone about to kill you by whatever means, i would not hesitate to shoot the fucker and save your sorry ass. Go ahead and outlaw guns, you will be wishing there was an armed upstanding citizen there to protect your sorry ass from the criminals who will over run the country.

Yes, guns make killing easy, I wont argue that. So does any number of common items. But guns make it easier to protect yourself from the idiots who want to kill you first.

It is true, guns do not kill people, people kill people. But they can kill a hell a lot more thanks to guns. It is sad that people are either too stupid to see that or like to pretend they are that dumb. And yes you can give numerous examples of things that can be used to kill people. But most if not all of those things have some other purpose while guns purpose is to kill. Not to mention they usually can not kill from a distance with so little effort as a squeeze of a finger.

How many of those deaths by car ACCIDENTS and drowning were caused by someone trying to kill multiple people. Why stop with this example. Many people are killed by heart attacks and heart disease so why not ask why we do not ban hearts. I mean heck, more people die from their own body failing than from someones else's actions so lets not ban murder.

Anyway, people can complain about kids being killed right now, but the only reason you're complaining is because they were in your country. Every second, there's another kid dead somewhere in the world, usually by brutal murder.

If you have those people so much, go around with a gun and kill everyone you think should die.

We need this problem stopped and more anti-gun laws are not going to do it.

Restricting citizens right to own firearms in any matter will not solve or even lessen the impact of what happened.

We have been putting up with gun control restrictions for decades and they do not work. Chicago had a total handgun ban for almost 30 years and it didnt lessen crime there one bit. The Clinton era AW ban didnt do a thing. Bans and controls only affect the law abiding. No law will stop criminals or those intent on doing evil.

American morons get shocked over this kind of shit because it doesn't happen every day, like in SOME countries. You expect life to be orderly safe and secure in this country, wake up to reality!

The problem has to be hit at the cause, not the means. A cop friend of mine told me (as I didn't know of this already) the Psychiatric help system in America SUCKS!!!!
We can’t keep on just placing people in prison.
In and out....in and out!
And meanwhile your tax dollars to pay for this shit goes up and up to support these revolving door institutions.
You have to fix these problems before they start.
But who fucking cares?
Just as long as that problem is removed from your sight its all that matters right?

Good point, except that there are votes in 'going tough on criminals' (hence the ridiculously high imprisonment rate in the US compared with other countries) and not in raising taxes. And America is in debt up to its eyeballs. In other words, common sense doesn't apply and the measures you suggest, sensible though they are, will never be implemented.

The right to Bear Arms was very shortsighted by America's constitutional creators. Guns are very different from that time. If they wanted people to be safe from invaders from other countries they should have said in the constitution the right to Bear Arms in defence of the nation. Then set up armourys in towns and cities then if America was invaded the people could go there and request a gun and defend the nation.

You need to read the 2nd amendment again. It DOES say that. And while you are at it read the first 10 amendments again. The Bill of Rights. Read the 2nd in context with the others. They are all interrelated.

Then read the Federalist Papers. There the founders talk about and debate the new Constitution and Bill of Rights at great length. Educate yourself.

When the victors of the American Revolution wrote the United States Constitution, the military dictatorship of Cromwell was recent enough to still be part of their historical memories, and still more recently Great Britain’s threat to maintain a large standing army in the American colonies had reacted upon inherited fears of military usurpation of power to serve as one of the major causes of the Revolution. Therefore the United States Constitution contains elaborate safeguards against military despotism, such as guarantees of the existence of armed citizens’ militias in the various states to offset the federal military between the (P r e s i d e n t) and congress.
At that, fear that the Constitution went too far forward encouraging a powerful military helped make its ratification a near thing, and throughout the nineteenth century Americans persisted on viewing the small Regular Army acting as a constabulary on the Indian frontier as though it were a potential praetorian guard that might bar the doors of the Congress and create an emperor.

Proof gun control is an epic fail!

After the 1997 shooting of 16 kids in Dunblane, England, the United Kingdom passed one of the strictest gun-control laws in the world, banning its citizens from owning almost all types of handguns. Britain seemed to get safer by the minute, as 162,000 newly-illegal firearms were forked over to British officials by law-abiding citizens.

But this didn't decrease the amount of gun-related crime in the U.K. In fact, gun-related crime has nearly doubled in the U.K. since the ban was enacted.

Might stricter gun laws result in more gun crime? It seems counterintuitive but makes sense if we consider one simple fact: Criminals don't obey the law. Strict gun laws, like the ban in Britain, probably only affect the actions of people who wouldn't commit crimes in the first place.

England's ban didn't magically cause all British handguns to disappear. Officials estimate that more than 250,000 illegal weapons are still in circulation in the country. Without the fear of retaliation from victims who might be packing heat, criminals in possession of these weapons now have a much easier job, and the incidence of gun-related crime has risen. As the saying goes, "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."

Tell them that abortion not only needs to remain legal, but needs to be cheaper, and more widely accessible to everyone. The sooner you make it OK to get rid of a unwanted pregnancy, the sooner you stop the next batch of crazies from being brought into the world. ONLY YOU CAN STOP A BAD PERSON FROM BECOMING A BAD PARENT!!!! Write your congress/senator man or woman, and let them know you'd rather a child be aborted, then raised to be a killer.

Thank you, and fuck you all.

Gun's don't kill people, people kill people... People can't kill many people without being stooped, 200 round clips on the other hand... Look you could go on a knife spree at a school a rock spree at a school a pencil spree at a school, but your not taking out an entire fucking school of kid's. It's not gun's it's militant weapons, the kind a warrior trains for the right to use, this fucking pussy has no right to something as powerful as that. Oh the 2nd amendment sure you got that, this is not about that, this is about irresponsibly powerful weapon's in public hands, might as well hand us tanks. You don't use it for hunting, a deer or a bear does not need 200 rounds of holes, you don't need it for anything but practice at a range, they want to sell this, they need encrypted locks that only deactivate at ranges, their is no legal activity for that amount of rounds on public grounds.

This post shows a total lack of understanding. First of all Ive never seen a 200 round clip.

And I do own one of those vile evil "assault rifles". And I use it often at our local rifle range. Our club has monthly hi power rifle matches and we shoot competitively.
There are high power rifle shooting matches all over the country.

Now tell me...why should the action of a mentally unbalanced person take away MY rights to a hobby I enjoy?

Gun laws and bans dont affect anyone but the law abiding. Criminals and those intent on mayhem do not obey laws.

Connecticut has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country including an assault weapon ban. That didnt prevent this tragedy did it? Guns laws and bans do not work.

No, your right ban's don't work, I'm talking proactive encoded locking features bulit into any gun over a certain amount of power, on the gun's themselves that would only unlock at places that would allow legal use of the gun. Their are plenty of 200 round AK-47 Magazine's available.

Want to sort out this country, here's a suggestion: Stop electing attorneys to public office and set term limits to seats in the Congressional Assembly.

Washington D.C. is a toilet long overdue for a good flushing, let's give that bowl of shit a good scrubbing and see how much better America becomes.

I've said this before, eventually it will sink in to someone.
Humans are Animals. Ravenous, Vengeful, Territorial Scavengers who's only claim to fame is our opposible thumbs. In case anyone is too arrogant to notice, without our toys and tools we are TRULY at the very Bottom of the food chain. Our bodies have no natural defense against the elements, much less the predators of this world. Hell for that matter we can't even defend against a Mosquito without some form of technology. Take it all away and we are vulnerable to everything.

People believe that the kinds of things that Happened in Boston, and Newtown are a sort of aberrant behavior, but really it is our primal nature asserting itself for some reason or another. We are the only species on the planet that will prey upon its own kind for sport.
It sucks, it's monsterous, it's disgusting, but ya know what? it's us.

Once the powers out there realize this, accept this, and quit worrying about their image. they might be able to stop making laws that are useless against those who act on their primal instinct, and start looking for ways to help overcome the human condition. That is what it comes down to, change the human psyche and you start to cut down on violent crime.

Anger is always et with anger, Violence with Violence and Threats breed nothing but distrust.
That is who we are. Work it out. There are many ways to stop violence, however "WE" as supposedly Civilized Humans refuse to use them.

Yeah I'm a Fatalist, and an Asshole, but I am also a Realist. Blaming everyone else is nothing more than escapism. Truth? These Atrocities happen because we allow them to happen.

Think about it ... be REALLY Honest with yourselves.
