Loophole?

The law seems like such a fucking biased-ASS!!!!

I think Prosecuting a minor for their personal behaviors conflicts with the same reasons the law deems them incompetent to make decisions.

This is not a case of ignorance of the law. This could by definition by other aspects of the the law regarding mental disorder, be placed in the same category. Since the law is categorizing minors as being unable to make decisions for themselves then they could thus be classifies as mentally retarded, and need of counseling.

comparison in point;
I had an adult friend that was not able to be "let loose" on his own because he was diagnosed as mentally incompetent and not able to make lifetime decisions for himself so he was "taken care of" by the state. Eventually they let him be independent.

This to me has a comparison to a child deemed incompetent to take care of themselves until a parent/ guardian deems them capable of doing so. So why is 18 the magic number? people develop at different rates.

And don't tell me mental disorder is no comparison to inexperience to life. We all mentally develop as we get older, so we start off comparable to a retard and our minds develop and grow as we take in experience and knowledge. So on a lighter note young adults make stupid decisions, like robbing a convenient store, because their minds don't fathom what they will get if they put 2 and 2 together (aka. didn't think of the TV camera aimed at their sweet faces) due to of lack of brain power.

Try holding an argument with an intellectual, you will look like a moron every time.
Soooo...I'd like to know what Zagg thinks about this, or any lawyers fapping on this site.

You're right that we all develop at different rates, physically and emotionally, but there's no practical way to encode those differences in the law. So they pick an arbitrary number, something that approximates an average, and make that the legal boundary. One day before it's a crime. One day after it's perfectly okay. It's not entirely rational, but it's the best that we can do. The appropriate number can be debated, but we need some number.

Proof that even a mental midget like Zagg can lurch into the truth once in his life.

Moreover, the law is arbitrary. One year, 16 is legal. At that same time 14 may be legal in another state. Then a year later because of the media and church-ladies, 18 is the legal age.

The law and "authorities" need to stay the hell out of morality, and stick to focusing on murderers, rapists, and embezzelers.

OK Zagg, then whos' infinate wisdom dictates it, and how does that number get drawn? As this changes with different societies and history. So the SOCIAL NORM of the time and place dictates what is legal, and not FACTS. You know, we were all stupid enugh at one time to widely accept the burning and torture of people for witches not too long ago. Fear makes a for a dangerous ingredient.

Their should not be a dictated law based on un-researched facts, and allow an individual to grow at their own pace.

Absolutely, it's social norms. I'm not sure that there are any facts apart from what people think in establishing the law. It's a matter of preference, not fact.

You know why you don't get the laws you like. The moral fags organise and get out there and make a point to get there way, and no one stands up to them. They donate to politicians, both time and money, to buy there vote. If you want the law to reflect your beliefs, you need a stronger voice, and for some reason, the majorty sits on there asses and just lets a small vocal minority go out and influence the people that make the laws.

^^Then why are the wall street protestors all over the US being ignored and thrown over barracades? I relly don't want to use them as an example, but the government talks money with a mobster-like mentality and doesn't care about points of views. Back in the seventies, college kids were being brutalized by the cops in Chicago, maby some of them were asking for it, but I think some actually were killed. Not an expert, and didn't do any research, just talking out of what I know.

"cops in Chicago": You're probably referring to the Democratic convention of 1968. "some were actually killed": Not in Chicago. There were shootings at Orangeburg, South Carolina (1968) and at Kent State University (1970) and Jackson State College (1970).
