I agree, don't whip it out. Maybe having a few drinks might loosen the mood. Start by telling her how beautiful she is and that your friends have told you that you were lucky have a hot, sexy mom. See how she reacts to that, if she seem to like the idea of young men wanting her, then you start kind ask if she thinks you're handsome. She probably she yes, then ask if it's a mom's answer or a woman's. That might get her to start thinking about you as other than her son. A little more alcohol, a soft touch on her hand and see how she reacts. If she pulls her hand away then you will know that she is not into it yet. Maybe after a few days of thinking on it she might change her mind. If she seems a little upset about the conversation, tell her you're sorry but the alcohol got the better of you and apologize if anything you said embarrassed her. That why it give you both a way out of the awkward situation.
