it was a deliberate policy of the labour party to allow open borders into britain. they saw it as a way of "rendering the viewpoint of the white middle class establishment as obsolete" they wanted a multicultural society, as such a society would be more likely to vote labour. these were policies hidden by the government as they were viewed as too dangerous to be acknowledged openly. they only came to light under freedom of information act 10 years after.
