Im totally pissed off with the media trying to make me feel guilty simply because i happen to be white and im not a Muslim or Jew.
Ive never enslaved anyone, never conquered your countries, destroyed your homes, killed your people, or stole your job.
And just because i happen to like being white, well it is the colour i was born with, doesn't make me a racist, shit if i was born black, brown, yellow, etc i would feel the same way.
But im not allowed to feel any self pride in myself, for being in a job, straight, white and just a regular guy.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm a "regular white guy" just like you, but I don't feel like I'm being persecuted or made to feel guilty at all. What sort of media outlets are conveying this message to you, that I'm not getting?

it centers on white privilege ... we get things without even thinking about it .. like family guy where the pretty people get everything episode ... there are systems in the world that are completely governed around white privilege... google it.

I totaly understand what you are saying.
Im not racist but im getting fed up with the way the media makes me feel racist. The blacks are aloud 'black pride day'. 'the black music awards.'
And even a tv network is showing a series of films at the moment titled 'the best of black actors.
If we had 'white pride day' or 'the white music awards' or even 'the best of white actors' series of films shown back to back. WE would be called racist.
The media and govenment try so hard to make themself not look racist towards blacks and asians, that they have turned racist against whites and dont want to admit it.

Yeah, but white people are as common as dirt... that would be kind of silly to give them special recognition, don't you think? It's really more about culture/heritage than it is about race, anyway.

For you white folks, St Patrick's day is about as close as you're going to get.

i understand what you are saying, instead of white events/awards and days we could have itallian/british/german or what ever recognition, that makes sense but thats not what black people do, there is no kenyan or anyother african country/culture day/award/ tv channel. the criteria for special treatment is to have black skin...thats it. which is just as stupid as having the same things for white skin

i will say that black people, and other races do have a rougher time getting out of poverty stricken lifestyles but it all comes down to individual choice and responsibility for ones actions. if you were born into a dirt poor family and are still dort poor at the age of 40 then its your fault %100, you continued to make the bad choices of you parents after you left home...if you left at all. you might have been a little thug all your life and have been to jail so much that it has screwed your chance at a better life...still your fault. I dont want to hear this "my surroundings made me do it" garbage

I won't say I'm proud to be white because I had no control of it but I do like it. I don't feel guilty about it or anything and I'm definitely not a racist.

Not sure what OP is talking about either, though I'm guessing it's the media in Great Britain he's talking about (as he said "colour", not "color"). I'm white, but I can trace my ancestry back before the Revolutionary War. Nobody looks at me like I'm going to take their wallet, or acts with surprise if I'm articulate and wearing a suit. I'm not a product of any ghetto or project, and never had anyone tell me I "have the same chances as everyone else...if I'd just try harder"...because I had so many chances handed to me as a white person.
I could go on.
There's no shame in being "white", or "black"...or anything else. Make no mistake, though - all that I've said doesn't apply to many black people. They can trace their ancestry back to emancipation (if their lucky). If I wear a suit, it's no surprise...and nobody looks at me like I'm going to rob them. I'm a teacher, so I see the products of the ghetto on a daily basis, and I haven't seen too many young black kids acting with shame just because their labeled "inner city".
Bottom line - Nobody should be ashamed of who they are regardless of whatever. There's really no white, black, etc. - just "people" and "assholes".

(Hope that came out with some degree of articulation - I'm a little drunk!)

I am so tired of people saying they are proud of their race...you have nothing to do with the accomplishments of a race.
Those were the accomplishments of individuals, not you
Unless, of course you were actually actively involved, you did nothing to be a part of a race...there was no test, no trial, you were just born...it is no fucking achievement.
Be proud of your accomplishments, of mankinds accomplishments! Go out and do something and stop riding on the backs of people who do and then claim ownership if it just because they happen to be the same race as you. Racial pride is just the new socially acceptable form of racism.

The funny thing is the Blacks are being exploited and used by the media, Democrats and, yes....even their own black saviors like Rev. Jesse Jackoff, Al Sharpshit and especially OBAMAMAN! He's laughing himself all the way to the bank exploiting the Black Divide!

If you're pissed off at the media...quit watching them!! Quit reading AP stories. Quit reading the Washington Post and the New York Times.
