Atheists have Gods also..money, science, political parties, philosophies... they all put as much if not more faith in these things then most religious people do their religions. Hell, my God fails me in some way...I know it's my fault... who do you blame when you get an infection that has become immune to antibiotics because science hasn't discovered one that works yet or science put so much faith in those they had, they overprecribed... even though they knew way back then all livings things do eventually develope defenses against such.
At least if I catch such..I can have God to comfort me and realise just maybe he's calling me to his side... and not have the cold thought that pharmaceutical companies stoppd antibiotic research and looking for cures to focus on medications usually notvital to survival like Viagra, Cialis, Enzyte, anti-depressents who's number one side effect is suicide, and etc... They put their Gods, Money and Proffit over yours, science... and you have no comforts.
Now on another note..when asked why he suddenlt became religious after years of Atheism... Einstein replied, "I took a close look at everything and realised someone or something made it all and chose Judaism because that was my father's religion.."
I'm Christian..a rather unorthodox one, but one nonetheless...and I actually follow those teachings like not to judge others and etc... Why? If it was not meant to be said, then it would not have been said. You can be scientific and etc.. and still be religious. Most of the worlds greatest Philosophers and Scientists were deeply religious... those people who all that came later have built their works on.
An atheist speaking out about religion and it's ignorance needs to remember it was the Grekk and Roman beliefs that originally built our own... and those were based within their religions... during the Dark Ages, muslims saved the classical knowledge they came across while politically motivated Catholics destroyed or hid it, and expounded upon it. During the Rennassaince, the Church supported most of the great thinkers and scientist... yes they slapped down some who were stupid..like Galileo who was a known liar, plagiarist, and would insult others better then him in his field...and the pope called him on it (That Pope was himself quite an accomplished natural scientist). All the great universities started as religious schools... this is the basis of your science.
Western culture is so full of itself, it fails to realise, meny of our current concepts (say the last 1000 years) were already discovered by Chinese, Hindi, and etc..recorded and never given credit for..and often these were also religious peoples. It was religion and superstition that created many ancient monuments that correctly track the stars and planets through the skies, predicted eclipses and etc. Religion in and of itself is not bad.
Take my religion for instance..Christianity and it's original format...based on the Jewish faith and expounded upon. The often harsh and hippocritical (I probably misspelled that)laws of moses (note these are not the 10 Commandments, but laws Moses made) with a philosophy based on being nonjudgemental and forgiving. He accepted any and everyone into his philosphy and creed...and spoke of peacefulness and avoiding conflict when possible, but the strong also protecting week. he also pointed out we should obey laws and pay taxes (render unto Caeser...). The original Christian Church after his passing did not have a titular head..the Christians gathered and discussed what they were teached and came up with decisions among themselves..this included accepting a known prostitute among them who kept plying her trade and helped them. The tithe so many churches put so much emphasis on, to them was not about money but time, goods, food, and etc... they used to help the poor and etc. The surviving disciples were given places of value, not as leaders, but as councilors who had spent the most time with Christ... among them was a tax collector (the most reviled profession at the time), fisher men, a doctor, and etc... It was good church that upheld their beliefs peacefully and followed the law..until..
This guy name Paul came along...first he was a Jew who persecuted the Christians..then the Jewish rebellion happened and he saw the light..bet your butt he did...be a jew and face death by Roman laws... these rebellious Jews were the one sbehind Jesus' crucification..not he majority of them. Paul has a big part suddenly because he is the Basis of the Roman Church and etc... The original church is rarely spoken of anymore and people start listening to Paul and Timothy because they basically took it over and started the system that we know now..and theignorance and etc..why? Organised Christian Churches want ignorant members..that way they can feed them what they want them to learn from the Bible and not questionthings like..
If God said 'Thou shalt not Kill..why'd he have the Israelites kill all these peple?'.. be cause God never said that. That was a mistranslation because the ancient hebrew murder resembled the greek word kill... That commandment is actually 'Thou shalt not Murder..." a big difference...so on and etc. This is also why when Guttenburg printed the first universally available Bible he was executed by protestants..who also wanted to limit what the masses knew... and thus w ehave this huge thing now where the ignorant automatically assume religion = ignorant and uneducated. I believe in creation and evolution..first we were created and over time we have evolved... proof. Humans are essentially the weakest lifeform on earth... yet we are now the dominant one (until you realise roaches just keep us arond to provide easy meals and shelter for them..slight note here..roaches are also completely immune to staph and other bacteria..and used to be a very important part of our diet and immune system...until we discovered cleanliness and started hating them...They also ate fleas, bedbugs, and other saller pests. Science has found a roaches brain kills even MSRP staph and tuboculosis... two things they never saw signs of in ancient men who lived among the roaches).
I hate pseudo christians who talk about the end of the world and take the bible literally around creation, and atheist who also do. In Daniel an angel speaking to Daniel tells him about a long list of events going all the way to the after Revelations..and says this all will happen in less then a day to God...puts a 6 day creation into a new perpestive...it also worded so it can be understood this less then a day actually starts on Day 8.... so we have no clue what a day is to God. Scientific records have also shown tsunamis that have deposited shells and etc.. as high as the top of Everest..these are not from Everest pushing up..but rather from being deposited...everywhere on the planet this evidence occur..plus every..and I do mean every culture on earth has a great flood story. Indians, Greek, Romans, African, Native American, Japanese, Chinese..so on and etc..with few survivors. They are discovering civilisation is not the 5-6,000 years old as they thought. Before the Fertile Crescent of the three rivers Euphrates, Tigris, and Nile were thought to be the cradle of civilisation... but they have found cities as old in India...and China... and one even older then any to date in Peru.
Theyhave evidence from when the Sahara was green and white and black people lived there and had built a society... they've found ancient ruins in Africa pointing at possible cities as old as that in Peru...so on and etc. We just do not know when man came to be..theories are just that until proven or disproven..and this is the root of science...and no one has been able to proove or disprove either.
So those who proclaim science from the Mountain Tops...are ignoring their own rules for establishing fact. Instead they focus on attacks of a personal nature and insult flinging..having no basis for their theories in fact. In fact, they cannot even agree on any one thing..this is science.... as illogical, warped, and ignorant as religion supposedly is. They spout Einstein's theories as if they are the basis of all..forgetting until prove they are just theories... and work on the cloaking mechanism being done by some scientists has gone completely against some of his work that science has taken for granted.
Science even recently chided itself over going decades ignoring the scientific method...especially in the climate debate and other areas...admitting they universally have a bad habit of completely ignoring anything but that which proves their theories right, even if it is not replicated through experimentation.
They take the notion something some guy noted last year is established fact, when ancient and repeatably proven theories are still considered theories and being tested...and anyone who does not believe as they do are ignorant, quacks, conspiracy theorists, and etc...back to the old stand by, if we cannot actually prove them wrong, let's insult them instead.
