When Indian and Pakistani people first started coming to Britain, loads of natives said they smelt of curry and thought this meant they didn't wash properly. The reality is everyone is desensitised to their own smell so they only notice others. An old Indian gentleman told me when he firs arrived here we all smelt of sour milk to them!
