I don't see how this is "forced monogamy"...many people never get married, never are monogamous. It is, like you said, a choice. These women seem to just have preferred monogamy after they had their crazy, youthful fun for a little bit. It's human (hell, mammalian) nature, particularly for females, to want to settle down with a single mate, at least until she can get pregnant. Societal pressure combined with the fact that human intelligence puts us above instinct in many cases that keeps couples together after childbirth. But most humans are met with a drive to find a single person at some point, because eventually, we are driven to reproduce. It's an unchangeable part of our nature

Actually its against nature to stay monogamous. Very few animals are, most cases its "wham bam thank you ma'am, now get out of here so the next guy can try"
