FIX SORTING. ITS WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT 101.

Search results should be sorted by date posted, in descending order. This isn't fucking rocket science. God damn, give me the code of the procedure used for searching and I'll show you the ONE LINE OF SIMPLE ASS SQL it needs.

Or when listing Groups by number of uploads, put the one with the most uploads first and list the rest in descending order.

Not even a full line, just an additional statement in a query.

The simplest of thing appear to be quite hard for these fuckers to code properly.

I love when someone is trying to make someone else sound dumb, and they end up making themselves sound dumber in the process.

Search results are sorted by... wait for it... here it comes... RELEVANCE! This is how every damn search engine in the world works. That is website development 101. When you do a search on Google, do you think they show you results sorted by date? By the date the sites were spidered? No, they show you search results sorted by RELEVANCE.

Here you go if you don't understand the concept: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relevance_(information_retrieval)

We also give you the option of viewing uploads from the past 24 hours, past week, and past month if you're so desperate to see results ordered by date. I guess you just didn't notice those options.

It's also amusing that you think our search even uses SQL. Motherless isn't your mom's blog. We use high powered search technology (Sphinx) which has nothing to do with SQL. I guess they didn't teach you that in website development 101, huh?

"Or when listing Groups by number of uploads, put the one with the most uploads first and list the rest in descending order."

If we did it that way, 99% of the groups would never get any exposure. The top 10-20 groups with the most uploads would be the only groups anyone visits. We don't list the groups in some random order. They work just like forums. When new content is added to a group, it gets bumped back to the top of the list. What does that mean for you? It means better groups! Why? Because it gives group members incentive to keep adding content to their groups. Adding new content bumps their groups back to the top of the list, which gives them more exposure.

I love how you guys think we just do shit randomly, and have no clue what we're doing. We take a more intelligent approach to these things, and it's an approach that is clearly lost on a lot of you.
