Ode to My Ex - An original work
This morning I woke early to watch the sunrise. I sat on the beach digging holes with my feet, and pretended not to care. A crisp wind meandered up my back, sending a shiver to creep over my body. I picked up a handful of sand and wondered if by some strange twist of fate, I might be holding a grain you once walked upon. Then that majestic star crested in the distance, its rays silently and instantly warming the Earth. I closed my eyes and just let the daylight overtake me, and with it a peaceful serenity embarked upon my soul.
