So I'm trying out Linux and I can't get videos to work properly in Firefox (31). The player doesn't load, when i click it goes to the mp4 file and uses firefox's built in player which is a hassle. It worked fine in windows and it works in chrome in linux but i want to use firefox.

Which distro are you using? Linux has about 300 diffrent engiens that can be used as part of the OS build and each is a little diffrent. An example is I am using the Ubuntu mini-device distro right now. So is it Mint, Ubuntu, Debian, Xandros, Linspire, Lindows, Tiny Linux, Gentoo, Drangonfly, PC Linux, Fedora, Arch, Slackware ...? Also I was reading the other day that Firefox 30 is still the stable build package for several distros. Have you checked the support forums for the distro?

igot it. i didnt have h.264 support installed for some reason

I have a $380.00 laptop and everything works well. Nothing against anyone here, past or present, but what the fuck is all this other shit for? Surf the internet, watch videos, skype, send email....and stop fucking with your computers....Ya think?
