I’ve been on the opposite of the same coin. For us it was hard at first but then we had a discussion The verdict for us( I know I’m using that phrase a lot) was no diseases ,no kids don’t , rub it in my face , no one around our kids and no relationships. Also no mutual friends That being said I was gone an average of 200 or more days a year. So we decided to set those rules and it worked for us for a long time.
