sjsu, San Jose State University, that's here in Silicon Valley. It is in downtown San Jose, I used to live there; I love it downtown. Probably 90% of the population in the downtown area is under 25, all people sharing apartments while they go to college or work in tech. It is a very expensive area. The median salary in Silicon Valley is 100k; that's what Google pays someone who graduates with a BS in CS from SJSU and goes to work there. The median home price is 1 million dollars, though. It's people who have been working in tech for a while buying houses close to work. A guy in his 20s recently bought a two bedroom house, built in 1957, in Sunnyvale (one of the surrounding suburbs, part of Silicon Valley, home of a small startup you may have heard of, AMD), and paid 2 million dollars for it. Presumbably he really wanted to live close to AMD. :)
