The point of those posts is not really to identify what people would do, but really just to identify someone the original poster thinks is hot and wants to share because he or she feels others might think the image is hot, too. lol. You're beautiful, very far away though...only time I have been to the East Coast is when I when I went to New London Naval Submarine Base for Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Submarine Sonar "A" School. Everybody calls it "Groton" because it's actually in the town of Groton; New London is actually across the Thames river from there. I have lived in Silicon Valley since I was 5 and still live here...a lot of money (just low income)/logistics issues though...

closest I ever got to seasick was one time when we were coming back into port on the submarine USS Florida SSBN-728. We were in the Straight of Juan de Fuca on the surface. The sea was pretty rough and I felt nacreous and kept having to use the bathroom. But I don't think I was really seasick because I had been sick for a couple days even when we were underwater.

Plus, when we were on the surface in a class 4 typhoon, and the boat (on submarines, we call it a boat, for historical reasons...but never refer to a destroyer or aircraft carrier as a boat lol) was being thrown around 20 degrees to port, then snapped to 20 degrees starboard and back again, all in the course of several seconds. The Officer of the Deck said he could not see the top of the waves through the persiscope. Then finally we dove the boat, and at 300 feet the boat was still swaying slightly from the action of the sea, but at 600 feet, it was completely calm. At 600 feet underwater, you could not tell that there was a class 4 typhoon on the surface because the sea was completely still. :)

And I never got seasick at all during that time! So I think I was just sick in the Straight of Juan de Fuca. :)

When I was in the Navy, 1999 to 2003, unfortunately there were no females on USN submarines (the Australians had them at that time). But in 2008, the first class of female submarine officers graduated from the US Naval Academy. And now there are many females on submarines, both officer and enlisted. I always approved of the idea of having females on the crew; I thought they would bring a different perspective and a new approach to submarine warfare and living at sea, submerged. They had to do it, despite all the sexism in the Navy. I had many arguments with other enlisted men about it; they would say that women can't handle the stress (it is VERY stressful duty and most PEOPLE can't handle it, but I think some of those who can are female), go crazy once a month etc. They had to do it because, since it is "arduous duty", you can't be assigned to a submarine. You can be assigned to an aircraft carrier even if you want to be on a destroyer, but to be on a submarine you have to specifically request it. And not enough men do, so eventually they had to invite females. :)

You have to be smart...everyone has to become Qualified in Submarines, which takes months of study, while you are doing a stressful job, and then a 2 hour board interview. And the officers have to not only become Qualified in Submarines, but they also have to have science degrees. Every officer except the supply officer needs 1 year of calculus and 1 year of physics using calculus. This is so they can learn to operate the nuclear reactor. I'm always surprised to hear about officers in other military communities who have degrees in history or something, when a science degree is required on submarines. Well, with the exception of the supply officer.

Anyway, yeah, cruise ship sex would be hot. :)
