I confess that as a Mother I allowed my daughter an hour of private time in her bedroom after she became exhausted from constant household work I forced her to do.
After 40 minutes, I went to her room with a leather strap knowing she would be asleep. I awoke her from her deep slumber by tenderly caressing her face with one hand, and gently calling her name. In my other hand was the leather strap which I showed her without saying anything as I stood at the side of her bed.
