I'm close to abandoning ML. Not feeling the vibe I'd hope would be here when I signed up. People sign up, post, then disappear inside 24 hours. Doesn't feel like people are being "real" around these parts. Also seems like the "nice guy" approach doesn't work on the site, that one must be a jerk and demeaning to others to get any cred or perhaps interaction. There ARE some women who I enjoy on here and hopefully my presence is of value to them in some way. Should I stay or should I go?

I enjoy the sparring with the racists and homophobes , but they aren't as numerous as they once were. I just liked using their own opinions against them.

i agree with much of what you said, @ChanceEncounter, however, i remember how it was for me in the beginning. i think it takes a little time to find your tribe, so to speak... or to build your circle of people you can enjoy bantering with. ML is a slice of society and just like the rest of society, we won't click with everyone who crosses our paths. i say give it some time. *hugs*

I guess it depends on why you're here. For me, it's all about watching porn, and the sheer variety of options. I also enjoy commenting wherever I feel I can provide some insight or offer a humorous response. I generally go with the old adage, "If you don't have something nice to say, keep it to yourself." As a result, I've almost never received negative feedback; for those who've done so, I simply ignore it. Also, I didn't join ML for a chance to hook up. I certainly wouldn't turn down a reasonable opportunity, you understand, but it's not my reason for being here. To that point, I've actually had three different women approach me with the idea of getting together for sex, but after some back-and-forth conversations (some quite extensive, and even via personal emails and toe), they basically flaked out and disappeared. I believe the new term is "ghosted," but I'm not broken up by it. BTW, I voted "give it some time," because I believe someone with your reasonable attitude is the sort of person that makes this site better, not worse.

Thanks for the level-headed response. If something face-to-face could happen, I'm not necessarily turning it down, but I want more of a "real" connection than just "OMG you're so hot I want to throw you down and have my way with you" banter.
