i was 1st cav for quite some time. did 2 tours in iraq. i was at LSA anaconda and camp taji. like everyone else over there, you go on patrols even if its not what you signed up to do. i had a similar situation to the OP when we raided a house. we stacked the wall getting ready to raid a suspected weapons cache. as soon as the lead kicked down the door he took a bullet to the head. my squad leader cleared him out of the way and called a medivac while we went inside. we engaged all the targets and made our way upstairs. there was one more guy upstairs.he put his hands up to surrender. i pretended like i was going to zip tie him so i went behind him while his hands were behind his head. i executed him instead, two bullets in the back of the head, in front of 2 other people. i was just so angry. nobody even cared. just one less mouth to feed and one less terrorist to worry about. i havent had a good night's sleep since.
