I know exactly what you're going through, girl. I have been there, and gone down both roads on separate occasions more than once. I can tell you that a) I have never regretting ignoring it, and b) I have never not regretted the "revenge" path. There have been times when I ignored it that I sat and wondered a bit, or sort of daydreamed about escalation, etc. But, in the end, those things just take too much of my energy to be worth it.

Thank you -- and you're so right! I decided to call off whatever it was we had going on, because it was taking too much energy from me. I really don't want to spend any more on him.
